Reverie Books – Fall/Winter Teen Internship Program
Term: September 17 2026 – January 9 2027
What is the Reverie Teen Internship Program?
The Reverie Books Teen Internship Program is a project-based, paid internship that provides bookish young people in South Austin with the chance to gain bookstore experience and workplace skills training in a community-based work environment. Interns will be trained on customer service, register handling, and general presentation, as well as develop knowledge of the place an independent bookstore holds in the publishing ecosystem. Interns will be paid $8/hr, with a set schedule of 10hrs/week, usually two after school shifts (one to be each Thursday for the intern team meeting) and one weekend shift of 3-4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Reverie Teen Interns report to the Reverie Teen Intern Coordinator. Interns should be prepared to work primarily at our new store opening this fall, Reverie Way South (8204 Brodie Lane) with occasional shifts at our established store, Little Reverie (5330 Menchaca Rd).
Who can apply to the Reverie Teen Internship Program?
We invite students 14 -17 currently enrolled in public, private, or homeschools to apply. Extra consideration will be given to Title I public school students. Consider applying if you love books, surly cats, and making a difference in your community. We are in far South Austin, and we ask that students are able to arrive by 5pm to ensure that interns will be able to make after school shifts in a timely manner.
What are Reverie Teen Intern responsibilities?
