Join us on June 28th at 2:00pm as we welcome author Reverie Fey, reading and signing her young adult memoir Queen of the Nerds on June 28th from 2:00-4:00pm at Captain Quackenbush Coffeehouse!
About the Book:
He won’t take no for an answer…
When surprise flowers appear from a secret admirer on her fifteenth birthday, Brandi, the gangly, undeveloped, freshman cheerleader thinks it’s too good to be true. While her fellow cheerleaders think that Jerome, the mysterious new guy, is perfect, Brandi believes this is finally her ticket into the cheerleader clique.
Jerome seems right out of a romance novel: tall, dark, handsome, drives a hot car and is the running back on the varsity football team. Her classmates say he’s rich and the cheerleaders all want to go out with him. But it’s clear that Jerome only has eyes for Brandi. But who is this guy really? What’s his story? Why did he move from a bigger school his junior year to her small Texas school in the middle of nowhere? Why does he know her entire school schedule, where she sits and who her friends are? Does he already know where she lives? Queen of the Nerds is a Mean Girls cautionary tale intertwined with a gripping #Metoo secret. A compelling, page-turner; unlike any teenaged survivor story you’ve ever read; because it’s true, every word.
